Friedrich Günther (actor)

Friedrich Günther ( 1750 in Holstein - after 1790) was a German theater actor and singer ( bass ).

Life

Günther was an excellent bass player and popular among comical old people. In 1768 he went to the theater, from 1770 to 1779 he was engaged as a singer and actor at the court theaters in Gotha and Weimar . From 1780 to 1783 he was a member of the ensemble of the Hofoper in Vienna and made his debut there in 1780. He then returned to Germany, played and sang on several stages in Germany and Switzerland, and in 1790 retired to Basel for private life .

He was married to Sofie Huber , also an actress and singer, with whom he played together in Vienna.
