Friedrich Grohe (entrepreneur)

Friedrich Grohe (born August 28, 1904 in Schiltach ; † March 29, 1983 ibid) was a German entrepreneur and manufacturer. In 1936 he founded the fittings manufacturer Grohe .

Life

After secondary school, Grohe attended commercial schools in Calw and Lausanne. He completed an apprenticeship in the iron and fittings trade and several stays abroad. From 1926 to 1935 he worked for his father Hans Grohe's company ( Hansgrohe ) in Schiltach.

1936 Friedrich Grohe left his father's company and took over with the consent of his father in Hemer , the company, founded as a "hardware factory" in 1911 Berkenhoff & Paschedag . After the takeover, the entrepreneur concentrated production on sanitary fittings . In 1948 the name was changed to Friedrich Grohe Armaturenfabrik . In 1968 he sold 51% of the company's shares to International Telephone and Telegraph . Due to the sudden death of his brother Hans Grohe junior on September 28, 1960, Friedrich Grohe took over the sole management of the company founded by his father until January 1975. Grohe died in 1983.

Friedrich Grohe was married to Ruth, nee Reymond, and had four children with her. In his free time he enjoyed horticulture.
