Friedrich Haux (born November 5, 1860 in Ebingen , † February 10, 1929 in Balingen ) was a German entrepreneur in the textile industry .

Life

The son of the Ebingen red tanner, Johann Martin Haux , first completed a commercial apprenticeship at the Ebingen knitwear and knitwear factory Linder & Schmid . He also went abroad for training purposes. Business trips took him to Great Britain , France and Austria-Hungary, among others . Together with his brother Reinhold (1853–1939), who left in 1896, he founded a jersey factory in 1885 , which existed until 1988. The company also included a power plant in Veringendorf that supplied the factory with energy, and as a result a power company that until 1997 the municipal utility of Albstadt passed.

In 1886 he married Lydia Kauffmann, with whom he had three children: Fritz Haux (1887–1966), Alfred Haux (1892–1967) and their daughter Gisela. He had the building known as Villa Haux built in Ebingen. From 1912 he became politically active for the Progressive People's Party . From 1913 to 1918 he was a member of the Württemberg Chamber of Deputies .
