Friedrich Heeb

Friedrich Heeb (born April 1, 1884 in Leutkirch , Kingdom of Württemberg ; † May 8, 1958 in Zurich ) was a Swiss typesetter and politician .

From 1909 to 1918 he was editor of the newspaper Berner Tagwacht , 1918–1921 of the Arbeiterzeitung , 1921–1944 of the People's Law . In Bern he was a member of the city council (municipal parliament), as well as in Zurich from 1922 to 1946. From 1928 to 1944 he was also a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council . From 1921 to 1926 Friedrich Heeb was President of the Social Democratic Party (SP) of the Canton of Zurich, 1932–1934 and 1936–1942 President of the City of Zurich SP. 1923–27 member of the cooperative, 1927–57 member of the administrative committee, from 1946 president of the Zurich Food Association, 1930–57 member of the administrative board of the Swiss Association. Consumer cooperatives. Author of several works on the history of Switzerland. Labor movement.

Friedrich Heeb was married to Anna Dorothea Scheler since 1911. The lawyer and politician Fritz Heeb is his son.
