Fritz Heeb

Fritz Heeb (born December 8, 1911 in Bern , † February 26, 1994 in Zurich ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician .

At the age of seventeen he joined the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland (SP). After studying law , he received his doctorate from the University of Zurich in 1939 . He then worked in court and as a district attorney . From 1944 to 1956 he belonged to the Labor Party (PdA) and represented it in the Zurich municipal council ( legislature ). From 1967 to 1975 he was a member of the SP on the Zurich Cantonal Council , and in 1973 he was elected judge of cassation of the Canton of Zurich.

In the 1970s, Fritz Heeb represented the interests of the Russian writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn as a lawyer .

Fritz Heeb was the son of the typesetter and politician Friedrich Heeb . The Fritz-Heeb-Weg in Zurich- Oerlikon is named after him.
