Friedrich I. (Nuremberg)
Friedrich III. von Zollern (* around 1139; † around 1200) was Count von Zollern and from around 1191 as Friedrich I of Nuremberg-Zollern Burgrave of Nuremberg . He was the first Nuremberg burgrave to come from the House of Hohenzollern .
Life
Friedrich was the third known representative with this name among the Counts of Zollern. He was the son or grandson of Friedrich II von Zollern, who died around 1142 . There is evidence of Friedrich I as a member of the Staufer party since 1171 . The marriage of Friedrich (1184), whose property was on the Swabian Alb , with Sophia von Raabs († circa 1218), the heir to the burgraviate of Nuremberg, proved of particular importance . With this office he was therefore from Heinrich VI. probably enfeoffed in 1191, with which he founded the Frankish line of his house. From the middle of the 14th century, this line was called Hohenzollern .
progeny
The marriage with Sophia resulted in two sons and a daughter.
- Konrad I († around 1260/1261), 1218 burgrave of Nuremberg (Franconian line)
- Friedrich IV. († around 1255), 1200–1218 Burgrave of Nuremberg (Swabian line)
- Elisabeth († 1255), ∞ Gebhard III. († 1244), Landgrave of Leuchtenberg
