Friedrich II of Truhendingen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich II. Von Truhendingen († May 19, 1366 ) was Prince-Bishop of the Bamberg Monastery from 1363 until his death .

Friedrich von Truhendingen came from the family of the Counts of Truhendingen . This sex had multiple possessions in the Franconian area . The ordinal number II only refers to the office of bishop, since he was the second prince-bishop of this name after Friedrich I von Hohenlohe .

At the time of the appointment of Friedrich II. Von Truhendingen as Prince-Bishop, Urban V was pope and Charles IV was emperor. Friedrich was only in office for a few years and died before his official enthronement . The epitaph is said to be based on the model of the tomb of the penultimate bishop Friedrich von Hohenlohe .
