Friedrich Karl Rupprecht
Friedrich Karl Rupprecht (born October 31, 1779 in Obernzenn , † October 25, 1831 in Bamberg ) was a German painter, etcher and draftsman.
Friedrich Karl Rupprecht was the son of Seckendorff's bailiff Georg Rupprecht and Eva Charlotte, née Löbl and Löwel. He attended grammar school in Nuremberg , where, against the will of his parents, he increasingly devoted himself to the fine arts and became a student of the landscape painter Christoph Froer. From 1799 he studied at the Academy in Dresden. From 1802 he was an independent artist. In 1807 he was a partner and interpreter in the wake of a French general and traveled a lot within Germany. In 1810 he settled in Bamberg . He found a supporter of his work in Stephan von Stengel and earned recognition in circles interested in art. He was one of the founding members of the Bamberg Art Association and the Bamberg Historical Association . In 1823 he married Maria Anna Ohlmüller, the marriage remained childless. Commissioned with the restoration of Bamberg Cathedral , he fell ill in the summer of 1831 because of the unfavorable working conditions and died that same year.
