Gravestone Friedrich Matthias von Syberg

Friedrich Matthias von Syberg (* 1646 ; † December 23, 1711 ), second son and heir of Johann Georg von Syberg and his wife Sybilla Arnolda von der Recke (1622–1660), was master of the Kemnade house and court lord of Stiepel .

Life

After Syberg was awarded the inheritance in a legal dispute in 1690, he operated economically and successfully.

In 1683 he had married Anna Christina, daughter of Johann Diedrich von Syberg zum Cleff , who gave him three daughters. His second wife was Christina Isabella, née von Romberg zu Massen and Töddinghausen.

He died in 1711. The inscription on his tombstone in the churchyard of the Stiepeler village church reads:

Anno 1711 of December 23rd. The well-worn Mr. Friederich Mathias von Syberg Frey and court (lord) passed away blissfully in his 65th year of age.

The Syberg coat of arms in the middle and top left symbolize a golden five-spoke wheel on a black shield. The noble origins are further proven by the coats of arms von der Reck (e) (a silver bar with three red posts on a blue background), von Neuhoff (three chain rings in the shield) and von Büren (a leaping lion in the shield).

He left his 14-year-old, still underaged eldest son, Baron Johann Friedrich von Syberg , the glory Stiepel and house Kemnade, his second son John George the Good Wischelingen that this by his childless uncle Dietrich Wilhelm Abraham Syberg to Wischelingen as heir had been assured.
