Johann Friedrich von Syberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Baron Johann Friedrich von Syberg (* approx. 1697 ; † 1738 ) was a German nobleman from the Syberg family . In 1711, when he was only 14 years old, he inherited the Kemnade house in today's Hattingen . In 1736 he was awarded the court over the glory of Stiepel in today's Bochum and the associated feudal estates in feudal form from Count zur Lippe .

Enthusiastic about the splendid lifestyle, fashion, festivities and board games in the Rococo era , he wasted the legacy of his father Friedrich Matthias von Syberg . When taking out loans, he passed fiefdoms as his property. He died unmarried and without children. After his death, there were bankruptcies and foreclosures. The turning point came when the widowed sister-in-law, the Baroness von Syberg-Wischelingen, widow of his brother Johann Georg, raised an objection in Kleve and a complaint in Detmold . In 1750 she was enfeoffed by Simon August , Reichsgraf zur Lippe, with Kemnade and Stiepel and administered it for her son Johann Friedrich Wilhelm von Syberg . A large part of the creditors came away empty-handed.
