Friedrich Messerschmidt
Friedrich Messerschmidt (born May 27, 1906 in Stuttgart , † March 24, 1929 in Hanover ) was a German motorcycle racer .
Career
Messerschmidt won on 2 September 1928 on one of the early supercharged 500-cm³- BMW at the age of 22 years, the fall race on the Solitude . In the same year he also won the Karlsruhe Wildlife Park Race in the team class. In 1929 Messerschmidt won the MSC Bad Cannstatt Winter Prize .
On March 24, 1929, he had a serious accident at the Eilenriederennen in Hanover . He lost control of his machine in slippery conditions, fell and suffered serious internal injuries and a fractured skull , from which he died at the scene of the accident. Messerschmidt was 22 years old.
