Friedrich Pesendorfer
Friedrich Josef Pesendorfer (born March 9, 1867 in Gmunden ; † May 7, 1935 in Linz ) was an Austrian writer and Roman Catholic. Priest .
Life
Friedrich Pesendorfer studied Catholic theology, was ordained a priest in 1889 and then worked in pastoral care. From 1897–1906 he was cathedral preacher at the Old Linz Cathedral , in 1894 he founded the cathedral building magazine Ave Maria , with which he promoted and supported the construction of the New Linz Cathedral , which was then consecrated in 1924 . 1896-1925 he was general director of the publishing house of the cath. Press club . He developed a versatile writing activity and published serious, humorous and dialect poems ( aphorisms ) and wrote travel reports . His contributions appeared a. a. in the Linzer Volksblatt and in the Welser Zeitung , often under pseudonyms such as: Onkel Fritz , Fritz Ulk , Friedrich von Traunsee , Friedrich vd Traun and Poeticus .
