Friedrich Rauch (born November 18, 1859 in Limmer , † February 6, 1948 in Hanover ) was a German politician (SPD) and journalist.

Life

After attending elementary school in Limmer, Rauch worked in a factory from April 1874 to autumn 1890. From 1876 Rauch attended courses in the Hanover workers' association. From 1882 to 1884 Rauch practiced the self-study of the German language. In 1890 he joined the editorial team of the social democratic newspaper Volkswille , for which he initially worked as a local and provincial editor. On January 1, 1894, he took over the editing of the political section of the newspaper, which in 1895 earned him a lengthy prison sentence for insulting majesty and insulting the Berlin First Public Prosecutor.

From 1912 until the collapse of the German Empire in November 1918, Rauch sat as a member of the SPD for the constituency Hanover 10 (Hanover, Hildesheim-Marienburg-Gronau-Alfeld) in the Reichstag of the German Empire .

From January 1919 to June 1920, Rauch was a member of the Weimar National Assembly as a member of constituency 16 (Hanover, Hildesheim and Braunschweig regions).

Rauch was also a member of the community committee and the school board of his home country and a member of the arbitration tribunal for accident insurance matters for the trade association of the chemical industry, Section III (Hamburg).
