Friedrich Reinhold Dressler

Friedrich Reinhold Dressler (born November 27, 1845 in Bautzen ; † in the 20th century) was a German classical philologist and high school teacher .

Friedrich Reinhold Dressler, son of a grammar school teacher, attended grammar school in Bautzen and studied classical philology at the University of Leipzig from 1864 , where he received his doctorate in 1868 under Friedrich Ritschl . From December 1868 he taught at the Thomas School in Leipzig, after passing the teaching examination on July 30, 1869 from August 16, 1869 at the grammar school in Bautzen. From 1885 he taught at the Gymnasium in Wurzen .

Wilhelm Heinrich Roscher worked as vice-principal and rector at this grammar school . Like numerous other high school teachers, Dressler wrote articles for his detailed lexicon of Greek and Roman mythology . In particular, he published on Triton and the Tritons.
