Friedrich Schütze (organ builder)

Friedrich Schütze (* 1808 in Dessau ; † unknown) was a German organ builder who also worked in Belgium and France.

Life

Friedrich Schütze trained in organ building from Eduard Zuberbier in his hometown and later from Eberhard Friedrich Walcker . From 1838 to 1847 he worked for Josef Merklin (1766–1857) in Wiehre , married his daughter and became a partner in the company. He then went to his brother-in-law Joseph Merklin in Brussels and became his partner. The company then traded as Merklin-Schütze. The company owners took over the Ducroquet company in Paris in 1855 , continued it as a branch of the parent company and founded another branch in Lyon in 1865 . Friedrich Schütze later set up his own business in Brussels.
