Friedrich Timmermann

Friedrich Timmermann (born April 20, 1855 in Lehe ; † January 12, 1928 in Wesermünde ) was a German farmer and local politician.

biography

Timmermann was the son of a farmer in Lehe, now a district of Bremerhaven . After attending primary school, he also became a farmer.

From 1888 to 1898 and from 1901 to 1909 he was mayor of Lehe. From 1909 to 1924 he was an honorary senator in the magistrate of Lehe. The expansion of the Speckenbütteler Park , which he looked after until the end of his life, is largely due to Timmermann .

Honors

  • In 1924, after the merger of Lehe into the city of Wesermünde, Timmermann was honored with honorary citizenship of Lehe at the last meeting of the magistrate .
  • The Timmermannsallee in Bremerhaven-Speckenbüttel was named after him in 1933.
