Frederick VIII (Zollern)
Friedrich VIII von Zollern († 1333 ), called "Ostertag" , was a Count of Hohenzollern .
Life
Friedrich was the younger son of Count Friedrich VI. von Zollern from his marriage to Kunigunde (1265–1310), daughter of Margrave Rudolf I of Baden . After the death of his brother Friedrich VII , Friedrich VIII appeared as the ruling count in 1309 and ruled Zollern alone with the death of his nephew Fritzli I around 1313. When the country was divided with his brother, he founded the Hohenzollern line.
The count was described in old letters as a cheerful and philanthropic person. He enjoyed spending a lot of time with his family. Another author described him as a determined man of war. He participated in the major party struggles of his time, first on the side of Austria and finally on the side of Emperor Ludwig of Bavaria .

The name of Frederick VIII's wife has not been proven. From his marriage he had the following children:
