Friedrich Wilhelm (East Frisia)
Friedrich Wilhelm von Ostfriesland-Rietberg (born September 16, 1650 in Rietberg ; † October 7, 1677 near Strasbourg ) from the house of Cirksena , was Count von Rietberg from 1660 to 1677 .
Life
He came from the Rietberg branch of the House of Cirksena . He was the son of Johann IV and his wife Anna Katharina Countess von Salm-Reifferscheid.
He followed his father in 1660. His mother exercised the reign for the underage son. During this time the parish rights for Neuenkirchen from the collegiate monastery in Wiedenbrück were withdrawn in favor of the counts. The foundation for the poor in Rietberg also goes back to this time of the guardian government.
Count Friedrich Wilhelm took part in the Imperial War against the French as part of the Dutch War . He fell as a captain near Strasbourg.
He was buried in the crypt of the Franciscan Church in Rietberg . He was not married and had no children, so that his brother Franz Adolph Wilhelm took over the government.
