Friedrich Wilhelm Andreas Rauch (born April 16, 1871 in Altenhausen ; † March 14, 1952 in Gutenswegen ) was a German farmer and dialect poet .

Live and act

Friedrich Wilhelm Andreas Rauch grew up as the son of a farmer in Altenhausen, attended the cathedral grammar school in Magdeburg , graduated from the agricultural technical college in Helmstedt and entered the practical training of his parents' agriculture. From 1891 to 1894 he served as a three-year-old volunteer in the German army, after which his professional career began. In October 1894 he became court and field manager in Helmsdorf near Eisleben in the Mansfeld lake district . In 1897 he moved to the Liepen manor near Ticino as an agricultural clerk and in 1898 joined the company Jenrich, Druckerbrodt & Co. in Gutenswegen as an inspector .

In 1903 he married and then ran his wife's estate in Gutenswegen, some time later he was again chief agricultural inspector in Helmsdorf. In 1920 he returned to Gutenswegen and managed the leased property there. After the death of his wife, he left the manor to his son and devoted himself to literature. Rauch's first literary works came about while he was still at school; he only resumed his literary work in Gutenswegen. He joined the Gutenswegen literature association , where he enriched the club's life by reciting vernacular texts and reciting his own poems and short stories in Low German . He also published these in daily newspapers and regional periodicals.

He gained greater fame through Low German stage plays such as De witte Rausenstrutz (1925), which are performed by amateur actors in the region. His works were summarized in the book Minschen, Lüe and Kinner published in 1929 . Vorteillijen ut de Madeborjer Börde . In the 1930s, Rauch was an employee of the adult education center and was a reciter as part of the Strength Through Joy movement. In 1936 he took part in the German dialect competition in Wuppertal as a regional representative . Rauch was an honorary member of the Aller-Verein Neuhaldensleben after he was also active in Helmsdorf from 1907 to 1920 as a member of the Eisleber Heimatforscher working group . In 1952 he died on his farm in Gutenswegen.
