Friedrich Wille (mathematician)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Friedrich Wille (born January 5, 1935 ; † August 9, 1992 ) was a German mathematician and professor ( C4 ) at the University of Kassel . In addition to his work as a professor and as an author of specialist and entertaining literature for readers interested in mathematics, he is also known as the author and composer of the main clause cantata , a setting of the main clause of differential and integral calculus (including proof and applications). His work “Galerkin's approaches to solving monotonous images”, written entirely in poetry, also acquired a certain fame.

In 1965, Wille wrote his dissertation with the title Construction of almost automorphic functions by Poincaré series at the University of Göttingen under Wilhelm Maak . In analysis he contributed Wille's theorem .

Willes younger brother Rudolf Wille was also a mathematician and professor ( Technische Universität Darmstadt ).
