Friedrich Zirpel
Friedrich Zirpel (born May 28, 1921 in Leipzig ) is a former German chemist and politician ( LDPD ). From 1967 to 1976 he was a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .
Life
Zirpel, the son of a craftsman, attended elementary and middle school and completed a commercial apprenticeship and a drug school from 1935 to 1938. From 1938 to 1956 he worked as a commercial clerk. From 1953 to 1956 he was co-owner of a drugstore. From 1956 to 1960 he was managing partner and from 1961 general partner of the Elisen drugstore Thörner & Zirpel in Leipzig. In 1957 he joined the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany (LDPD) and in 1959 became a member of the LDPD district committee in Leipzig City. From 1961 to 1965 he was the successor candidate and from 1965 to 1970 a member of the city council of Leipzig. From 1967 to 1976 he was a member of the LDPD parliamentary group in the People's Chamber of the GDR.
