Friedrich von Gerok

Christoph Friedrich Gerok , from 1853 by Gerok , (born November 19, 1786 in Weilheim , † July 2, 1865 in Stuttgart ) was a German theologian.

After completing his studies, Friedrich Gerok began his professional career in 1806 as a master's degree. From 1809 to 1811 he was a librarian at the Tübingen monastery , from 1811 to 1814 he was a repetiteur and assistant to the professor for classical literature at the University of Tübingen. In 1813 and 1814 he was a deacon in Vaihingen an der Enz and in 1815 at the Stuttgart collegiate church . In 1831 he became official dean, in 1836 city dean and hospital preacher in Stuttgart. In 1848 he was appointed prelate and general superintendent in Ludwigsburg . In 1860 he retired.

politics

The general superintendents of the Protestant regional church were privileged members of the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament by virtue of their office . Friedrich Gerok therefore also entered the state parliament in 1848 after his appointment in Ludwigsburg. He held the office until 1860.

family

Friedrich Gerok was the son of Ofterdingen pastor Christoph Friedrich Gerok (1748–1835) and Louise Friederike Gerok born. Dapp (* 1760) and had two siblings. In 1814 he married Charlotte Lenz (1794–1866), with whom he had twelve children, including the theologian Karl von Gerok .

Ennoblement

In 1853 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown , which was associated with the personal title of nobility.
