Baron Friedrich von Laßberg

Friedrich Leonhard Anton Freiherr von Laßberg (born May 13, 1798 in Lindau (Lake Constance) ; † June 30, 1838 ) headed the state government of the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen from 1836 to 1838 . In addition to his political activities, as a legal historian, he prepared the publication of an edition of the " Schwabenspiegel ", which was published posthumously in 1840.

Life

Laßberg was born as the second son of Joseph von Laßberg and Maria Anna Ebinger von der Burg (1771-1814). He studied in Freiburg (philosophy), Heidelberg (law and camera studies); Göttingen and Jena, where he was awarded a Dr. jur. received his doctorate . During his studies he became a member of the Teutonia Heidelberg fraternity in 1815 , of the Old Göttingen Burschenschaft / Association for German History in 1817 and of the original fraternity in Jena in 1818 . In 1820 Friedrich entered the service of the Principality of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen . In 1822 Laßberg was appointed court and government councilor.

From 1825 to 1828 he was senior bailiff of the Sigmaringen District Office . Friedrich devoted himself primarily to the development of the school system. From 1828 he was again in the court and government council. In 1831/32 he had to seek leave for health reasons, which he spent in southern France. In 1836 Laßberg became director of the court council and the state government.

Marriage and offspring

In 1824, Laßberg married Helene von Schatzberg (1799–1861), presumably an illegitimate daughter of Princess Amalie Zephyrine von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen from her extramarital relationship with Colonel Charles de Voumard, the guardian of her nephew, the minor Prince Friedrich IV. to Salm-Kyrburg . The marriage remained childless.
