The Friedrichshafen FF 49 was a German military aircraft from Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen .
development
As a result of the revision of the FF 33j , the FF 49 was created in May 1917. Above all, the airframe was reinforced and a more powerful engine was installed. This made the machine much more robust and fitted with a radio as standard. In particular, take-offs and landings on the open sea were now possible, which also made it possible to use it in sea rescue .
The FF 49b was created as a bomber , with the pilot in the back and the observer / bombardier in the front; 25 machines were built by her. The main version was the FF 49c, of which 235 pieces were produced in the main factory and under license from other companies, 10 of them with the naval numbers 7031-7040 at the Caspar factories .
