Friends of Europe
The Friends of Europe (FoE) (Les amis de l'Europe) is a Brussels-based think tank that analyzes and discusses European Union policies . The association was founded in 1999 and is politically, nationally and independent of EU institutions. Its aim is to create new ideas and stimulate the debate about Europe with the involvement of the media.
The membership includes many prominent personalities in European politics. In addition to personal members, European institutions and companies are shown as corporate members. Lobbypedia reports that business lobbyists are being offered a forum.

The president is Viscount Étienne Davignon , former Vice-President of the European Commission . The presidium also includes:
- Pat Cox , President of the European Parliament from 2002 to 2004
- Jean-Luc Dehaene , Belgian Prime Minister from 1992 to 1999
- Baron Daniel Janssen , former CEO of Solvay and member of the Steering Committee of the Trilateral Commission
- Pascal Lamy , Director General of the WTO
- Guy Verhofstadt , former Belgian Prime Minister, and
- António Vitorino , former Portuguese Defense Minister and EU Commissioner for Justice and Home Affairs.
Friends of Europe’s general secretary is Giles Merritt , former Brussels correspondent for the Financial Times.
