Hans Erer the Elder (* in Heilbronn ; † December 5, 1428 in Heilbronn) was mayor of the imperial city of Heilbronn in 1389, 1395 and 1399 .

Life

Hans comes from the patrician family Erer and was the grandson of the mayor Konrad Erer († 1336), who had three sons Konrad, Engelmar and Hannes, although it is not known which of these was Hans's father. It is first mentioned in Heilbronn in 1378 and received the imperial fief of the city from King Wenzel in 1385.

On March 21, 1387, Hans Erer the Elder represented Heilbronn in Nuremberg and promised King Wenzel to help him defend his kingship. Hans Erer the Elder was more often used as a member of the city of Heilbronn for the city alliances in the city ​​war 1387-1389 , when Heilbronn was attacked twice by the father of the later King Ruprecht von Habsburg , the Count Palatine Ruprecht and the Margrave Rudolf I (also Sauseberg) of Baden and the urban area was destroyed.

Hans Erer the Elder was first married to a lady from the Heilbronn family of Laemmlin . In his second marriage, Hans Erer the Elder was married to the daughter of Mayor Kunz Lutfried , Barbara Lütfried, from 1390 at the latest .

In the years 1395 and 1399 Hans Erer was the senior mayor of the city of Heilbronn, in 1387 and 1402 he is also mentioned as Vogt von Flein .

In 1400 Hans Erer the Elder went to the Palatinate Elector Ruprecht , who had been elected king, as Heilbronn's envoy , and Ruprecht confirmed the city rights of Emperor Charles IV on August 7, 1401 .

On February 16, 1402 Hans Erer the Elder received the imperial fief of Flein and Böckingen and in 1413 he received the imperial fief of Neckargartach from Konrad IX. from Weinsberg .

Hans Erer the Elder was next to Kunz Leyder called "Scheltz" the highest taxed person in Heilbronn and had a fortune of 8,600 guilders.

Hans Erer the Elder died on December 5, 1428. He had two sons, Konrad and Hans. Konrad later became mayor Konrad zu Speyer, his descendants were again mayors of Heilbronn .
