Frikadelli Racing is a private German motorsport team that was founded in 2005 by Klaus Abbelen . The team is based in Barweiler , in the immediate vicinity of the Nürburgring , where the team moved into an approximately 1800 square meter hall in 2010.

In addition to team boss Abbelen, Sabine Schmitz and various guest drivers also drive for the team, and around 15 mechanics are employed.

In 2005, Frikadelli Racing started for test purposes with a converted Porsche 997 GT3 from the Porsche Supercup in four rounds of the BFGoodrich endurance championship and the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring . In 2006 the team contested the entire season for the first time. From 2006 to the 24-hour race in 2007, Frikadelli Racing received support from Manthey Racing . For the 2009 season , the vehicle was converted to the Porsche 997 GT3 RSR.

The team's greatest successes are ten podium finishes and one pole position in races of the BFGoodrich endurance championship, as well as third place overall in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring in 2008.

Since 2010, the team has been competing in the VLN at the Nürburgring with the Porsche 911 GT3 R 997 in the GT3 vehicle class, in which they have achieved several podium places in the overall standings. For the 2012 season, the regular driver line-up was expanded to include drivers Christopher Brück (ADAC GT Masters) and Patrick Huisman (Porsche Supercup).

In 2013 the team used a Porsche 911 GT3 R 997 again, which, in contrast to the previous year's vehicle, could be improved again. Klaus Abbelen, Sabine Schmitz and Patrick Huisman were the main drivers for the season. Sporadic support came from Porsche works drivers Patrick Pilet and Henry Moser. In this constellation, the team achieved their first overall victory in the VLN Endurance Championship and the first ever "VLN Speed Trophy" as a team with the most points in the overall victory classification.
