Throwing a goal through the rim

Friskee is a team game from the field of frisbee sport .

Two teams with at least 2 players play for the most points. There are two peat rims on a large, level lawn , these rims have a diameter of 28 inches (about 71 cm) and are mounted vertically on the rim carriers at a height of about 240 cm. The frisbee must be thrown through the rims, which are set up just before the two ends of the playing field. The players leading the target are not allowed to run, but have to cross the field of play with passes . Of course, players are allowed to run out with a disc that has just been caught. Ie after you have a passport, the ex. was thrown steeply and quickly in front of the opponent's rim, you don't have to continue playing the disc straight away, but can stop first and reorient yourself. In addition, a star step, like in basketball , is always allowed.

The game of Friskee is similar to basketball in terms of tactics, routes and rules. In addition to the star step already mentioned, there is also a three-point throw. However, there is, for example, a five-point throw and the possibility of extending a throw to get an additional point. And the set of rules is deliberately kept simple and understandable and can therefore be explained in a very short time.

Friskee is always played fairly , and due to the gentleman philosophy, there are no referees or expensive protective equipment for the game. You only need two rims, a frisbee disc (a 175 gram " Ultimate " disc is recommended ) and two teams.

Friskee was invented in 1999 in the German-French Garden in Saarbrücken and has been played regularly every Sunday and in all weathers in Saarbrücken since 2000 .
