The Fritz Reuter School Kiel is a primary school in the Pries district of Kiel .
history
The Fritz Reuter School has existed since 1816. The former elementary school in Pries is the pioneer of all schools that were later founded north of the Kiel Canal . The old building of today's school was built in 1911. In 1958, when the extension was completed, the school was named after Fritz Reuter . It has been a pure elementary school since 1975.
Due to the merging of the Fritz Reuter School with the Heinrich von Stephan School in the neighboring Friedrichsort district from August 2004, new buildings and conversions were necessary. The construction of a gym and cafeteria, five classrooms and group rooms on the grounds of the Fritz-Reuter-Schule was completed in autumn 2006.
The school building is entered in the list of cultural monuments in Kiel-Pries .
