Fritz Bischoff (* 1915 in Dortmund ) is a former German wrestler .

He grew up in Dortmund and learned to wrestle at ASV Heros Dortmund . Soon he was in the first team of this club, which was one of the best German wrestling teams at the time. In 1940 he won the first German championship title in Freiburg im Breisgau in bantamweight, Greco-Roman style, ahead of Philipp Allraum , Mannheim and Justin Gehring , Friesenheim . In 1941 he was runner-up behind Georg Pulheim , Cologne . In 1947 Fritz Bischoff moved to Göppingen for economic reasonsand joined the TV Jahn Göppingen. In 1949 he was German runner-up in featherweight, Greco-Roman style behind Georg Pulheim, Cologne. In 1950 he had a third success at a German championship. He won the featherweight in Ludwigshafen am Rhein , ahead of Rolf Ellerbrock , Dortmund and old master Ferdinand Schmitz , Cologne. Fritz Bischoff was, like many other German wrestlers, a so-called "war victim" because his best period fell in the war and post-war years. When there were still some successes after the Second World War, at 35 he was too old for international assignments.
