Fritz Brase
Fritz Brase , actually Friedrich Wilhelm Anton , (born May 4, 1875 in Egestorf , † 1940 in Dublin ) was a German musician , conductor and composer .
After his musical training at the Conservatory in Leipzig, he studied at the University of Music in Berlin and was a student of Max Bruch . From 1911 to 1919 he was music director of the Prussian Guard Grenadier Regiment No. 1 in Berlin. After the First World War he was a member of the Berlin Philharmonic . In 1921 he emigrated to Dublin, where he was appointed Irish Colonel and Stage Manager of the Irish Military Music . In this capacity he has also directed the Military Music School in Dublin.
Fritz Brase was buried in the Mount Jerome Cemetery in Dublin, with musical accompaniment provided by the No. 1 Irish Army Band.
