European Services Forum

The European Services Forum (ESF) is a lobby organization for the European service sector based in Brussels . The organization, founded in April 1999, sees its task in actively promoting the liberalization of international trade in the service sector.

Around 30 large European companies from 27 EU member states are part of the forum, including Standard Chartered Bank , Clifford Chance , Deutsche Telekom , France Télécom , DHL , Siemens and Telefónica , as well as around 30 business associations, e.g. B. Business Europe .

The ESF sees itself as the voice of the European service industry in international trade negotiations.

Following press reports on documents that have come to light from secret negotiations on the Trade in Services Agreement of November 2016, the ESF warns its members against possible strict data protection in the agreement and calls on them to advocate an “unlimited flow of data”.
