Fritz Franke (politician)

Fritz Franke (born September 10, 1921 in Zerbst ; † December 1, 1986 in Rankweil ) was an Austrian politician ( FPÖ ) and businessman. From 1969 to 1974 he was a member of the Vorarlberg state parliament .

education and profession

Franke attended elementary school in Rankweil for eight years and then completed two years of commercial school in Feldkirch . He served in World War II and was seriously injured in a plane crash over Russia in 1943. He spent five years in a Soviet captivity. Franke worked from 1964 to 1973 as a managing partner of Eisen- u. Metallgießerei Ernst Franke OHG and was then unemployed for a short time. From 1973 to 1985 he was employed by the Kurt Vetter company in Lustenau . Franke retired in 1985.

Politics and functions

Franke was a member of the Freedom Party of Austria and held the office of party chairman of the FPÖ Rankweil at the local level. From 1960 to 1975 he was a member of the Rankweil municipal council and between 1962 and 1975 he was also a member of the Rankweiler municipal council. As a member of the Feldkirch constituency, he represented the Austrian Freedom Party from October 29, 1969 to November 3, 1974 in the Vorarlberg state parliament. At the same time he was deputy chairman of the FPÖ state parliament club from 1969 to 1974 and a member of the finance committee, until 1972 a member of the social policy committee and from 1974 a member of the legal committee. Within the party, he worked from 1963 to 1967 as deputy state party chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg, then from May 4, 1967 to March 26, 1972, he held the function of the state party chairman of the FPÖ Vorarlberg. Within the party, he was also a member of the state party executive of the FPÖ Vorarlberg, a member of the state party leadership of the FPÖ Vorarlberg and a member of the FPÖ federal party executive. In addition, he was involved as chairman of FC RW Rankweil, member of the board of the Vorarlberg football association and as a member of the Ring of Freedom Business Drivers.

Private

Fritz Franke was the son of the electrician Ernst Franke and his wife Emma Franke, née Wieland. He married Trudi Ammann from Rankweil in December 1946 and had six children born between 1941 and 1969.
