Fritz Gögel

Fritz Gögel (born August 5, 1905 in Meiningen , † August 12, 1981 in Einhausen ) was a German stone sculptor .

His most famous works include the girl figure at the dairy in Ober Maßfeld (around 1935), the figure of a bathing woman in the swimming pool in Meiningen (1970), the figures of the Heinrichsbrunnen in Meiningen (1968) and the Vitusbrunnen in Vacha (1979), as well as the figure a water carrier at the village fountain in Einhausen (1981). The original figures of the Heinrichsbrunnen (1872) and Vitusbrunnen (1613) were badly damaged and were recreated by him based on the historical templates and in the style of the respective time.
