Fritz Geißler (born September 16, 1903 in Frankfurt am Main ; † June 13, 1960 ) was a German politician ( FDP ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Fritz Geißler studied political science for six semesters at the University of Frankfurt am Main after finishing secondary school and graduating from high school . From 1923 he worked in the civil service until it was dismissed when the National Socialists seized power in 1933. From 1943 to 1945 he was in captivity. After the war he worked for the city administration in Frankfurt am Main from 1946.

Fritz Geißler was a member of the DDP from 1925 to 1933 . Since 1945 he was a member of the LDP and later the FDP.

He was a city councilor in Frankfurt am Main until 1948. From 1948 to 1954 he was mayor of Lauterbach and from July 1, 1954 to June 13, 1960, mayor of Bad Nauheim . From 1956 he was a member of the Friedberg district council . From December 1, 1950 to November 30, 1954 and from October 14, 1957, when he replaced Wolfgang Mischnick , who had been elected to the German Bundestag , until November 30, 1958, Geissler was a member of the Hessian state parliament and in 1954 a member of the 2 Federal Assembly.
