Fritz Heinrich

Fritz Heinrich (born February 8, 1921 in Feudingen , † March 7, 1959 in Biedenkopf ) was a German trade unionist and politician of the SPD .

Life and work

After attending primary school , Heinrich completed an apprenticeship as a machine fitter from 1935 to 1939. After working in this profession, he was a soldier in World War II from 1941. He was seriously wounded (60% war damage) and was taken prisoner by the United States, from which he was only released in late 1945. From 1946 to 1948 he worked for the city and administrative authorities in Bad Laasphe . Since 1947 he has been involved in the ÖTV . From 1948 he was a full-time trade union secretary for the DGB .

politics

Heinrich had been a member of the SPD since 1946 and became local chairman in Bad Laasphe in 1950. In 1952 he was elected second chairman of the SPD sub-district Siegen / Wittgenstein. Heinrich became a member of the municipal council in Bad Laasphe and the district council in 1948. In the district council he was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. He had been a member of the German Bundestag since the Bundestag election in 1953 and was elected via the SPD's state list in North Rhine-Westphalia, and was re -elected in the 1957 Bundestag election. In both terms he was active in the Labor Committee, and from 1957 also in the Committee on Food and Agriculture. During his second electoral term, Heinrich died of the long-term effects of his war injuries. His successor in the Bundestag was the deputy Arthur Killat .

Honors

The senior center of the workers' welfare in Bad Laasphe is named after Heinrich .
