Fritz Horst Melsheimer

Fritz Horst Melsheimer (born September 17, 1950 in Traben-Trarbach ) is a German manager and Chamber of Commerce functionary.

Professional career

After studying economics at the Universities of Bochum , Würzburg and Hamburg , he was responsible for asset management, corporate development and controlling at Albingia Versicherung from 1978 to 1992 . There he was appointed deputy board member in 1991 and full member in 1992. From 1993 to 2000 he was in the Hamburg-Mannheimer in various board positions, most recently as CEO of Hamburg-Mannheimer property insurance AG. From 2000 to 2002, Fritz Horst Melsheimer was CEO of WAVE Management AG , an independent service provider that takes on consulting and asset management mandates for institutional and private investors. From July 1, 2002 to June 30, 2014 he was CEO of the HanseMerkur insurance group , where he was responsible for corporate policy, personnel and assets.

He is also managing director of SONORA Vermögens- und Grundstücksverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH , Hamburg.

On March 3, 2011, he was elected President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to succeed Frank Horch . However, he lost his office in the 2017 Chamber of Commerce election to the IHK rebels , who sent 55 of 58 representatives to the new plenary and elected Tobias Bergmann as president.

From March 20, 2013, he is also Vice President of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry .

family

Fritz Horst Melsheimer is married to the internist Alexandra Kettner-Melsheimer. He comes from the Traben-Trarbacher winemaker family Dr. Melsheimer . His grandfather Max married the widow Maria Graff from the wine empire of Napoleon and Oscar Graff on the Moselle, which dominated around 1900. Fritz Horst Melsheimer's grandfather Dr. Fritz Melsheimer - after which the Dr. Melsheimer - was briefly mayor of Traben-Trarbach in 1945. There is no evidence of a relationship with Ernst Melsheimer .
