Tobias Bergmann

Tobias Bergmann (born July 11, 1971 in Munich ) is a German management consultant . He was President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce between April 6, 2017 and December 8, 2018 .

origin

Tobias Bergman grew up in Langquaid, Bavaria, between Regensburg and Landshut. Both parents were primary school teachers. His father Josef Bergmann later became SPD local mayor. At 17, Bergmann joined the SPD. He was committed to the socialist youth organization Die Falken and in 1991 became its state chairman in Saxony .

education and profession

Bergmann studied economics at the Technical University of Dresden and the University of Parma . After graduating with a degree in economics , he worked for a management consultancy in Cologne . He later moved to Hamburg to the branch of the Danish engineering and consulting group Ramboll and helped set up the first job center for Hartz IV in Hamburg.

In 2009 he started his own business and founded the management consultancy Nordlicht Management Consultants GmbH and became managing director of Tobias Bergmann Consulting GmbH in May 2017 .

President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce

In 2011 Bergmann was elected to the Chamber of Commerce of Hamburg for the first time. In the Chamber of Commerce election between January 16 and February 14, 2017, the Chamber of Commerce rebel alliance "Abolish Compulsory Contributions - The Chamber Are WE" , which he initiated in 2013, surprisingly won 55 of the 58 seats in the plenary. On April 6, 2017 he was elected President of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to succeed Fritz Horst Melsheimer with 54 of 58 votes . Due to a lack of support in the Chamber Parliament, he surprisingly resigned from his position as President on December 8, 2018, with immediate effect. His successor was Norbert Aust .

Private

Bergmann has been married to the Persian journalist and musician Nazanin Romy since 2018. He lives in the Hamburg district of Wilhelmsburg and has been boxing at SV Wilhelmsburg since 2016 .
