IHK rebels

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The IHK rebels are a number of mostly regional initiatives that reject compulsory membership in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) . The rebels are networked nationwide through the Bffk .

background

In Germany, due to the law on the provisional regulation of the law of the chambers of industry and commerce, traders are required to be members of the IHK. Exceptions are z. B. farmers or winemakers who operate primary production as well as members of other chambers . Members of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, especially small and medium-sized companies , which are mostly also organized in the Federal Association for Free Chambers (BffK), have been resisting for years . The chamber rebels are particularly critical of the obligation to make a compulsory contribution for small businesses. Conversely, compulsory membership in the IHK also means the right to vote for the general assembly of the IHK. The term chamber rebels is mainly used by the press as a generic term for companies that speak out against compulsory membership and have organized themselves regionally as an association at chamber level under a catchy slogan . There are also so-called rebels at the chambers of crafts who oppose compulsory membership.

public perception

In Baden-Württemberg , the BffK has been trying for years to bring the issue to the political stage by means of a petition in the state parliament. In recent years, many small IHK members have made use of the opportunity to protest by running their candidacy for the general assembly of the IHK. Already in 2008, reached in Schwerin a chamber critical group The New-CCI with 29 of 44 seats in the majority in the Assembly. For the IHK rebels, notable successes were achieved, for example, in the chamber elections in Kassel, Hesse, in 2014 by the initiative Kammern ohne Zwang (KOZ). In 2012, the initiative pro SME successfully ran for election in Berlin . In the chamber district of the Stuttgart region , 22 members in 2012 and 33 members in 2016 of the regional cactus initiative (which emerged from the entrepreneurs against Stuttgart 21 ), as the IHK rebels call themselves there, were elected to the general assembly of the IHK.

In Hamburg , the chamber rebels, who have come together under the motto The Chamber We Are , achieved their greatest success to date in February 2017. The chamber critics represent 55 of 58 elected representatives in the new plenum and thus the absolute majority in the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce . On April 6, 2017, Tobias Bergmann , an IHK rebel, was elected President (in the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce = President ) to head an IHK for the first time. However, he suddenly resigned on December 8, 2018, as he lacked the necessary support from the plenary for reforms. On March 1, 2019, the alliance The Chamber We Are Announced its dissolution.
