successes

At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 , Jack and Jakob Erckrath de Bary , Robert Krünert and August Petri took fifth place in the saber team competition. In the individual he was eliminated in the second round, in the epee already in the first. In Stockholm he appeared in 1912 only with the saber team, where he achieved the shared seventh place. At the age of 48, Jack took part in the Olympic Games for the third time in Amsterdam in 1928 . Both in the epee singles and with the team, he was eliminated in the second round.

In 1913 and 1920 he was German single champion in epee fencing. His club, FC Hermannia Frankfurt, was by far the most successful fencing club before the Second World War and won numerous German team championships. Since the exact team line-ups are not known, it is unclear how often Jack was directly involved in the profit.
