Fritz Lux

Fritz Lux (* 1883 ; † 1950 ) was a Swiss food technologist and pioneer of malt beer .

In 1920 he met Ferdinand Glaab II in Weihenstephan after he had succeeded in extracting vitamin B1 from the plasma of yeast cells . The process was patented in 1932/1933 (filed in 1930). Malt beer was developed and brewed in the Glaabsbräu company . In 1931 the malt beer was patented for the Vita-Lux-Gesellschaft under the name Vitamalz .

In 1922 he took over the Rausch brickworks in Hösbach , which was renamed "Bayerische Ziegelwerke Hösbach". In this factory he continued to work on his inventions. Among other things, he continued to develop the water meter and the rectifier circuit.

Fritz Lux also worked in other areas of the food industry . He received patents for processes for the production of light-colored meat and sausage products (1937), for the improvement of blood-colored meat and sausage products (1937), for the enrichment of beer with vitamins and other active ingredients of yeast (1938), for the improvement of baking flours (1939) ), for the production of low-fat baking premixes (1939, with Richard Lubig) and for the production of microorganism plasmolysates from yeast (1939, with Richard Lubig), for the preparation of dough for yeast baked goods made from milk (1940) and for the encapsulation of vessels (1940 and 1942 ).
