Fritz Röttcher

Fritz Röttcher (born June 27, 1879 in Meschede ; † August 8, 1946 in Ingwiller ) was a German pacifist , publisher and publicist .

Life

The son of a Protestant pastor initially worked as a druggist . Later he was secretary of the German Peace Society . From 1918 to 1919 Röttcher was active in the council movement in Württemberg. From 1925 to 1932 he was editor and later publisher of the magazine "Die Menschheit" , a federal organ for human interests. During this time he was arrested on July 29, 1927 on suspicion of treason because he had reported in the magazine "Die Menschheit" about the connection between the Reichswehr and the Stahlhelmbund . Röttcher died in Ingwiller in 1946. He was married to Anni Röttcher-Mertens.
