Fritz Söhlmann

Fritz Söhlmann (born April 14, 1905 in Hanover , † September 30, 1977 in Langenhagen ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1947 to 1950 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament.

Life

Söhlmann attended the Humboldt School in Linden and then worked as an assistant in Bremen in import and export. He then studied theology, history and education as a working student at the universities in Bethel and Berlin . He then worked at the Evangelical Social School in Spandau and as a YMCA secretary in Berlin-Neukölln.

From 1933 to 1941 he was editor and chief editor of the “ Junge Kirche ” and the “Reformation”, journals of the Confessing Church . From 1941 to 1945 he was at the front in the war.

From 1945 to 1947 Söhlmann was head of the youth literature department and scientific advisor at the Gerhard Stalling publishing house in Oldenburg. In 1948 he was entrusted by the publishing house Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht with the preparation of the reissue of the magazine "Junge Kirche". From 1950 to 1955 he was head of the state youth welfare office in Hanover as a senior government councilor, but left for health reasons. From 1955 to 1958 he was on hold. In 1960 he received a research contract on patronage research from the Society for Church History of Lower Saxony .

politics

Söhlmann was a co-founder of the successor party to the German Democratic Party , the German State Party, and was later an employee of the Christian Social People's Service .

After the end of World War II and the time of National Socialism, he was a co-founder of the CDU regional association in Oldenburg and the zone committee. From May 23 to November 6, 1946, he was a member of the Oldenburg State Parliament. He was then from December 9, 1946 to March 28, 1947 a member of the appointed Lower Saxony state parliament, where he was chairman of the welfare committee. From April 20, 1947 to February 18, 1950 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament, where he was again chairman of the welfare committee.
