Fritz Schilling (* 1951 in Nürtingen ) is a German chef .

Career

Schilling comes from a family of restaurateurs who ran the Ulrichshöhe Inn in Hardt near Nürtingen . After completing his training, he went to the south of France and then to the Westerländer Hotel Stadt Hamburg . In 1971 he took over his parents' inn, where he was awarded a Michelin star .

In 1977 he became head chef at Andresen's inn in Bargum , where he also received a Michelin star. In 1990 he switched to the Schweizer Stuben restaurant in Wertheim as head chef , where he was awarded two Michelin stars and 19 Gault Millau points. In 1996 Gault Millau voted him Chef of the Year.

In 1998 he became the kitchen director of the Käfer-Schänke restaurant in Munich. In 2005 he moved to the Die Bank restaurant in Hamburg. In 2010 he returned to the Käfer Group as head chef in Camers Castle Restaurant in Hohenkammer Castle . In 2015 he retired.
