Geographical location

Hardt is located about 15 kilometers west of Rottweil in the Black Forest Central / North Nature Park on the densely wooded Hardt , an open plateau on the eastern edge of the central Black Forest, sloping to the east and south-east . history

Today's Hardt mark used to belong to the municipality of Mariazell . Hardt originated from 15 original farms, which are still marked with information boards today. In 1840 Hardt was given the status of an independent political community, which belonged to the Württemberg Oberamt Oberndorf and at the time had 495 inhabitants. Hardt has been part of the Rottweil district since 1938 . The community has been able to call itself a resort since 1976.

The Hardt motorcycle club annually organizes one of the largest international motorcycle meetings in southern Germany. Every four years the village festival takes place in Hardt, which is mainly made possible by the associations and attracts thousands of visitors from the area to the town center.
