Hardt is a municipality in Baden-Württemberg and belongs to the Rottweil district , but borders the Schwarzwald-Baar district to the south . The community has about 2500 inhabitants. It is officially recognized as a resort .

Geographical location
Hardt is located about 15 kilometers west of Rottweil in the Black Forest Central / North Nature Park on the densely wooded Hardt , an open plateau on the eastern edge of the central Black Forest, sloping to the east and south-east . The plateau stretches across the regions See yourself for and Brogen in the neighboring district of Schwarzwald-Baar , to St. Georgen . In contrast, to the north of Hardt, the altitude drops rapidly in places. To the southeast lies the Glasbachtal , which belongs to Buchenberg , a part of Königsfeld .

history
Today's Hardt mark used to belong to the municipality of Mariazell . Hardt originated from 15 original farms, which are still marked with information boards today. In 1840 Hardt was given the status of an independent political community, which belonged to the Württemberg Oberamt Oberndorf and at the time had 495 inhabitants. Hardt has been part of the Rottweil district since 1938 . The community has been able to call itself a resort since 1976.

The community belongs to the agreed administrative community of the city of Schramberg.
In 2018 Michael Moosmann takes over the office of mayor with 67.5% of the votes, after Herbert Halder, who has held this office continuously since 1986 and was last re-elected in June 2010 for a further eight-year term with 98.7% of the votes, was no longer up for election started.

hikes
The Black Forest Association has set itself the task of signposting various hiking trails. On the “Hardter Hofweg” hiking trail, there are signs at the “Urhöfe” that tell about their history. The "Katzenpfad" hiking trail is named after a Hardter carnival figure and leads over a height difference of 600 meters. In addition, there are some bike tours through the tranquil village, and due to the favorable topography , there are many paths for mountain bike tours.

Hardt has a lively club life. There are, among other things, five music clubs , two carnival clubs and six sports clubs . The Hardt motorcycle club annually organizes one of the largest international motorcycle meetings in southern Germany. Another highlight is the annual football village championship, which attracts hundreds of visitors and table footballers to the sports field. In addition, there are regular festivals of the music associations. Every four years the village festival takes place in Hardt, which is mainly made possible by the associations and attracts thousands of visitors from the area to the town center.
Parish
The Catholic parish church of St. Georg is in the center of the village . The parish runs a kindergarten and the choir Fis (c) herman's Friends . After the long-serving priest retires, the service is continued by a priest from a neighboring parish.
Economy and Infrastructure
In addition to the local trade and craft businesses, some smaller industrial companies have also been able to settle in the municipality's industrial park in the past. These are mainly metal processing companies, suppliers to the automotive, electronics and automation industries. Nevertheless, the commuter balance is still negative.

There is a primary school in Hardt . The secondary schools , Hauptschule , Realschule and Gymnasium are located in Schramberg. In addition, some pupils visit the surrounding schools in Königsfeld , St. Georgen and Mönchweiler . Occasionally schools in the wider area are also visited , such as in Rottweil .

Hardt is divided by two district roads , which are an important junction, especially for commuting to neighboring communities. This means that the center of the village at the parish church of St. Georg and the town hall is also the center of road traffic. Hardt got broadband internet in January 2009. An outdoor DSLAM was set up for this purpose. In addition, the network expansion with fiber optics was advanced in 2016 .
Industry
In a lengthy process, Hardt is developing further areas for industrial companies with the industrial area 2 Nord, localized in Gewann Katzenmoos. As a result, more space will also be accessible to industrial companies already located there, which have so far been mainly represented in the first commercial area to the south.
