Bösingen lies above the Upper Neckar Valley , between the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb .

Neighboring communities

The community borders in the south on Villingendorf and the Rottweiler exclave Hochwald , in the west on Dunningen , in the north on Schramberg and Oberndorf am Neckar and in the east on Epfendorf .

Community structure

The formerly independent municipality of Herrenzimmern belongs to the municipality of Bösingen. The village of Bösingen, the hamlet of Kasperleshof and the courtyards of Herrenbühlhof and Waldhof belong to the municipality of Bösingen in the limits before the municipal reform in the 1970s. The village of Herrenzimmern and the homestead Stittholzhof belong to the former municipality of Herrenzimmern. The Burgstall Lußburg / Nussburg and the abandoned village of Hinterhofen are located in the Herrenzimmern part of the municipality .

Today's community Bösingen was re-formed on October 1, 1974 by the union of the communities Bösingen and Herrenzimmern.

The A 81 motorway connects Bösingen in the north with the state capital Stuttgart and in the south with the Lake Constance region and Switzerland . The Oberndorf am Neckar exit is halfway between Stuttgart and Lake Constance. Both destinations can be reached within 45 minutes. The Stuttgart - Zurich - Milan railway line runs directly through nearby Rottweil . From there there are hourly connections to Stuttgart or Singen .
