Geographical location
Fluorn-Winzeln is located on the eastern edge of the Black Forest above the Neckar Valley , around six kilometers west of Oberndorf am Neckar at an altitude of 649 m above sea level. NN .
Neighboring communities
The municipality borders in the north on the Alpirsbach district of Peterzell in the Freudenstadt district , in the east on the Oberndorf district of Beffendorf, in the south on the Schramberg district of Waldmössingen and in the west on Aichhalden .
Community structure
The community Fluorn-Winzeln consists of the formerly independent communities Fluorn and Winzeln. The village of Fluorn and the residential area Pochenmühle belong to the former municipality of Fluorn. The village of Winzeln and the farms of Kirchentannen, Staffelbach and Untere Mühle belong to the former municipality of Winzeln.
history
Archaeological finds show that the area around today's rectory was already populated in the 10th century. Tombs from the Merovingian era were allegedly found above the church in 1814 and have been lost since the Second World War. Other archaeological findings suggest that there was a brick factory in the Winzelner community forest in Roman times .
In 1099, Fluorn was first mentioned in a document from the Alpirsbach monastery .
On November 1, 1972, the two villages of Fluorn and Winzeln merged to form the new municipality of Fluorn-Winzeln.
In April 1980, 25 women from all over the country met in the old church on the initiative of Christine Muscheler-Frohne in the run-up to the elections for the first regular state board of the Greens . A declaration on equality between men and women is formulated here and is adopted at the party congress. This introduces the equal representation of their state executive board, all offices and mandates with men and women according to the zipper principle.
Attractions
- Rectory, built in 1672 on the site of the former local castle of the Lords of Fluorn (first mentioned around 1099). A previous building burned down during the Thirty Years War.

After the local elections in May 2014, the local council has 14 members, all of whom are non-attached.
mayor
On August 14, 2005, Bernhard Tjaden (independent) was elected as the new mayor of the municipality in the second ballot. He replaced Wolfgang Schnell. In the mayoral elections on January 27, 2014 Bernhard Tjaden was confirmed in office for a further eight years with 58.47% of the vote.

Sports
The local Luftsportverein Schwarzwald eV hosted the German Club Class Gliding Championships from May 21st to June 6th, 2009. With promotion to the 1st German Gliding League in 2007, the title was won. Since then, the team from LSV Schwarzwald has been continuously flying into the top ten and won the runner-up title in 2009, 2013 and 2015. A particularly successful pilot is Matthias Sturm, who regularly takes part in world championships and was already world champion and runner-up.

In the district of Fluorn there is a primary school ("Heimbachschule"), the primary school in the district of Winzeln was closed in summer 2015. All secondary schools are available in the nearby communities of Oberndorf am Neckar , Aichhalden , Schramberg , Dunningen and Rottweil .
