The older castle Herrenzimmern , also called Obere Burg , is the remainder of a castle in Herrenzimmern, a current part of the municipality of Bösingen in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg .
According to Zimmerchen's chronicle , an upper and a lower castle existed in mansions as early as the second half of the 11th century . In the period from 1077 to 1080 the upper castle was destroyed and further destroyed in the course of the Thirty Years War . In the west of the upper castle you can still see the moat broken into the rock .
