The castle Wittichenstein is the ruins of a hilltop castle on the "Castle Rock" at 510 m above sea level. NN above the Wittichen monastery near the community of Schenkenzell in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg .
The castle was mentioned in 1293 and was destroyed in 1344. It was owned by Schenkenzell's taverns. The castle was used to organize and protect the silver mines present here, similar to Birchiburg Castle in the municipality of Bollschweil .
Small remains of the former castle complex are still preserved.
