Klingenburg

The Klingenburg , also called Schlössle or Mühlburg , is the ruin of a hilltop castle at 540  m above sea level. NN on the Burbachfelsen near the Schiltach district of Hinter- Lehengericht in the Rottweil district in Baden-Württemberg .

The castle was probably part of a line of defense Schiltach Castle - Klingenburg - Schilteck Castle , to secure and monitor the Schiltach Valley . The castle was built around 1240 by the dukes of Teck as an observation tower and was mentioned in 1591 as "Alt Burgstadel, called Clingenburg". Apart from a corner of the wall, the stump of a keep , nothing has survived from the former castle complex with humpback blocks .
